Reviews and Ratings

Andrea Shapiro - Andrea's Wine Cellar rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

From the Wairau Valley in the northern part of Marlborough. Pale ruby colour with lots of ripe red fresh fruit. Red cherry, strawberry, raspberry, minerals, violet floral, mushroom and a touch of cracked black pepper. Flavours are quite bright echoing much of the bouquet with the addition of a little bit of rhubarb and some light heat at the end. Medium plus acidity low tannins and light body. Off-dry sweetness. Light, eloquent and juicy. Will complement washed rind cheeses, planked salmon and trout.
90 Points - November 2017
This New Zealand Pinot Noir wine from Astrolabe Wines Astrolabe Valleys (2014) comes from the Wairau Valley in Marlborough. The Maoiri word 'Wairau' translates to 'many waters' and the Wairau Valley is the largest and warmest of the three Marlborough sub-regions. - Community Wine Reviews

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
