Reviews and Ratings

Julia Kelada rated this wine as 89/100 with the following review:

For anyone starting off on Zinfandels, this is a perfect way to introduce you to a classic. All Zinfandels should be full bodied yet with a smooth transition into a nice round tannin. This wine is bang on for criteria.

On the nose there are raspberries and almost the familiar smell of Christmas! Pomegranate, Nutmeg, cinnamon and pepper. In fact I think that this would be the perfect wine to use as a base to a wondrous winter Mulled wine!
On the palate it was a little lighter than I was expecting from it's nose notes, the fruit did not dissapoint, it started with wild blueberries and then opened up to raspberries and blackberries but slightly intensified as though the fruit was cooked. The spice made its introduction along with a licorice note and ended with its signature round tannins.
A wonderful price at $21.85 it would be great to stock up on for holiday pop ins. We enjoyed ours accompanied by a delicious Moussaka!

Bottoms up!

Red, White & Drunk all over by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean writes about wine with a sensuous obsession... and often laugh-out-loud funny... Terrific.

Ms. MacLean is the disarming Everywoman. She loves wine, loves drinking ... ultimately, it's a winning formula.

Unquenchable by Natalie MacLean

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
