Elegant, classic and enduring (and endearing -- en'deer'ing?) Californian red wine. One of the cult classics that collectors chase through the forest of liquor store aisles. Rich, luscious and full-bodied with velvet layers of fleshy blackberries to caress your tongue and senses. Lovely nuances of smoke, forest floor and bacon. Racy, chewy and satisfying. Pair with a rare steak.

Cabernet Sauvignon food pairings: pepper steaks, smoky ribs, hard cheese, braised pork shanks.

Reviews and Ratings

Jane Staples - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 92/100 with the following review:

This mouth-watering Napa Valley Cab was aged 18 mos. in new French oak. Dark ruby with aromas of dark berries, mint, vanilla and savoury touches, echoed on velvety palate. Lingering elegant finish. Great gift for a Cab lover.

Rich, luscious and full-bodied with velvet layers of fleshy blackberries to caress your tongue and senses. Lovely nuances of smoke, forest floor and bacon. Racy, chewy and satisfying. Pair with a rare steak. This Cabernet Sauvignon from Cali's Napa Valley is Stag's Leap's Artemis 2013 named after the Greek goddess of the hunt, Artemis. The red wine blend is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% in Merlot and Malbec, with 18 months in French and American oak. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a fiesty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
