Reviews and Ratings

Rivesaltes' Ambré Tradition 5 Years is a vin doux naturel (VDN) produced from Grenache Blanc, Grenache Gris and Macabeu sourced from the Languedoc wine region. The wine is matured in vats for three years and then in barrel for two years. VDN is a sweet, alcohol-fortified wine meaning an addition of alcohol is added to the wine to arrest fermentation of the must. Called “mutage”, this method dates back to the physician and scholar Arnaldus de Villanova (1240 – 1311), who recognized that a certain level of alcohol in the wine stops the fermentation process and preserves the natural sweetness of the wine. Look for dried stone fruit, nutty caramel and mineral flavours on this sweet and zesty VDN. - Community Wine Reviews

Natalie MacLean is a new force in the wine writing world ‐ a feisty North American answer to Hugh Johnson and Jancis Robinson. She can write beautifully about wine.

The Financial Times of London

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
