Reviews and Ratings

Andrew Bernardo rated this wine as 94/100 with the following review:

This is an absolutely stunning offering, loaded with black briars, macerated plums, oak, warm spice, meat blood, smoke, crushed rocks, fresh garrigue and purple flowers. The finish is endless. Pair with roasted red meats. Drink now through 2026.
Wineboy rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Grenache is usually medium power, this one goes well beyond that. BIG, HEAVY, lots of sweet oak more than matching the power of the fruit flavours. Possesses all the smoothness of Grenache and a touch more alcohol typical of the grape variety. Perfect for an American wine drinker who is looking for a substitute these days.
Mark rated this wine as 90/100
From the Campo De Borja wine region, Alto Moncayo Veraton 2015 is made from 100% Grenache wine grapes. Savoury with zesty acidity, this is a delicious juicy red with ripe cherry, plum, anise and chocolate flavours on the palate. Easy to enjoy and with great acidity for food. Pair with roast beef. Drink now and for the next three years. Produced by Bodegas Alto Moncayo, this winery was established in 2001 as a partnership between importers Jorge Ordoñez, and Dan Phillips, and Australian winemaker Chris Ringland. The estate is situated near the village of Borja. - Community Wine Reviews
