Reviews and Ratings

Greg Hughes rated this wine as 87/100 with the following review:

Rather big and juicy.
The colour is surprisingly dark for Pinot Noir. The winery explains that the combination of a near-perfect vintage and small berry size.
Not quite glass-staining, but dark. Darker than Pinot usually is.
The flavours are really juicy. This wine has a ton of cola and woodspice. Plum, cassis, and blueberry. There is acidity. It carries a ton of oak - 12 months.
It's undoubtedly tasty, but exists in the territory of Californian Pinot Noir that tastes nothing like traditional Pinot. The tremendous popularity of styles like this have meant a serious shift in understanding Pinot (and what consumers expect). Don't expect it to taste anything like similarly priced Burgundians, but I think many North Americans prefer this as a style.

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
