Mitolo Jester Shiraz 2009, Mclaren Valle, South Australia, Australia: Superb depth and focus in this generous Australian Shiraz! Very convenient half bottle size means that you can dine eloquently for one or two with a glass or two. Full-bodied and sensuous. Perfect for grilled steak or lamb. Drink: 2013-2016. 180430 14.50% D 375 mL  $11.95 Score: 92/100. June 7, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Plush Pork Wine Full Review
Grant Burge The Holy Trinity Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre 2011, Barossa, South Australia, Australia: The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 18 months before bottling. It finishes with blackcurrant and pepper. Pair this wine with a juicy steak. Drink: 2014-2020. 236257 14.50% XD 750 mL  $41.95 Score: 94/100. May 15, 2016 Top Rated Red Wine. Errázuriz Aconcagua Alto Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Aconcagua Valley, Chile: A gloriously rich and robust Cabernet Sauvignon with 15% Cabernet France grapes in the blend from one of Chile's best-known and most-respected wineries. Classic aromas of cassis, blackberry and blackcurrant are wrapped luxuriously n vanilla smoke. Savoury, meaty and juicy with full-bodied weight and layers of dark fruit flavour. Concentrated, rich and deep. Long finish, great structure. Pair with grilled meats. Drink: 2013-2018. 203364 14% XD 750 mL  $23.95 Score: 92/100. May 30, 2015 Top Rated Red Wine. Domaine De Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem M. Chapoutier 2011, Côtes De Roussillon-Villages Latour De France, Midi A.C., France: Complex, mysterious and spectacular! Full-bodied, juicy, layered and smooth. Endless finish. I love the Braille label, plus the name includes a nice dose of Latin: perfect teacher's pet gift for end of the year (or perhaps now to lock in those 90s). Aromas of baked black fruit yet dry. So very delicious. Wish I knew the Latin phrase for that ... ultimum delici vinum! Drink: 2014-2020. 643239 14% XD 750 mL  $25.95 Score: 95/100. May 24, 2014 Top Rated Red Wine. Gorgeous Gift Wine Full Review
Château Pey La Tour Réserve Du Château 2012, Bordeaux, France: After two hours open in the glass, this wine transformed: far more aromatic than on first opening and the tannins smoothed out considerably. My score is based on that more open wine. This traditional Bordeaux blend has Merlot (90%), Cabernet Sauvignon (5%), Cabernet France (3%) and Petit Verdot (2%) grapes. Although Merlot leads in the blend, this is not a far Merlot, but rather a well-structured one. The wine is aged in oak, but only 20% is new so as not to impart heavy oak notes. Classic aromas of cassis and black currant with some pepper and smoke on the nose, palate and long finish. The 2012 vintage was a strong one and it shows in this value-priced Bordeaux. The vines are planted in calcerous-clay soils. Superb balance, depth and freshness. Pair with prime rib or a rare steak. Drink: 2016-2019. 349308 14.50% D 750 mL  $21.95 Score: 92/100. September 16, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
Domaine Des Fines Caillottes Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2015, Loire A.C., France: This French white wine is citrus-driven rather than herbal or grassy. Classic Old World Sauvignon Blanc. There's a pale straw hue in the glass. This aromatic French white wine hails from the Loire Valley. Pair with Dover sole in a lemon butter sauce. Drink: 2015-2020. 695908 12.50% XD 750 mL  $34.95 Score: 91/100. February 18, 2017 Top Rated White Wine. Sensational Shellfish Wine Full Review
Dr. Loosen Blue Slate Riesling Kabinett 2016, Mosel Prädikatswein, Germany: This fresh German white wine made from classic Riesling grapes has lots of minerality and lemon freshness. Medium-bodied with terrific refreshment in this classic German Riesling. Beautiful peach blossom nose then a surprising, but delightful, juicy, mouth-watering attack on the palate that is ultra-refreshing. Pair with fresh seafood or spicy dishes. Drink: 2017-2024. 160846 7.50% M 750 mL  $23.25 Score: 94/100. November 25, 2017 Top Rated White Wine. Venerated Vegetarian Wine Full Review
Studert-Prüm Graacher Himmelreich Riesling Kabinett 2012, Prädikatswein, Gutsabfüllung, Mosel, Germany: Apricot loveliness with an apple blossom shout of happiness! Medium-bodied. Yes, it's got some sweetness. Get over it and enjoy this with glazed ham or sweet potatoes. Drink: 2013-2020. 160853 8.50% M 750 mL  $20.95 Score: 92/100. September 13, 2014 Top Rated White Wine. Campofiorin Masi Veronese I.G.T. 2006, Vénétie, Italy  13%  750 mL  $19.75. March 1, 2012 Full Review
Marchesi de Frescobaldi Tenuta Di Castiglioni 2014, Tuscany I.G.T., Italy: A superb Italian red wine with a racy acidity on the palate that's perfect for pasta in tomato sauce, spicy sausages, pizza and lasagna. Aromas of tart black cherry, and spices. Highly recommended. Drink: 2016-2022. 145920 14% XD 750 mL  $21.95 Score: 92/100. June 16, 2016 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
Rotllán Torra Vina D'alta Qualitat 2010, Priorato D.O.C., Spain: This Spanish Crianza is savoury and juicy with great complexity and depth. Smooth and full-bodied with lusciously ripe and fleshy dark berries. If you haven't tried many wines from the Priorat region of Spain, this is a great place to start. This wine needs no coaxing out of the glass. Decant for 1-2 hours. This full-bodied red wine pairs well with steak. Drink: 2013-2018. 267989 13.50% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 93/100. February 8, 2016 Top Rated Red Wine. Heavenly Hamburger Wine Full Review
Joel Gott Wines 815 Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, Napa Valley, California, United States: Juicy and savoury with enticing herbs and meaty notes mid-palate. Very intriguing. Full-bodied and smooth with some dark spices on the finish along with cedar brush. Highly recommended. Drink: 2014-2019. 444059 13.90% XD 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 93/100. December 30, 2016 Top Rated Red Wine. Blissful Blue Cheese Wine Full Review
Cline Cellars Ancient Vines Zinfandel 2015, Central Coast, California, United States: Cline's Zinfandel grapes are sourced from dry-farmed vines planted more than 100 years ago, thus deserving the name Ancient Vines. The depth and concentration of that aging vine wisdom shows in the glass. Notes of blackberry and toasty, black fruit, tar, smoke and toasty oak. Full-bodied. Perfect for BBQ meats and a campfire. This is a truly mouth-filling wine. Big, long finish like a Broadway number... it's a dazzling kick-line for the senses. Warm, sunny days and cool nights along the San Joaquin and Sacramento Rivers provide unique growing conditions to produce robust, intense red wines. Drink: 2017-2020. 719211 15% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 92/100. April 28, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine. Harmonious Hard Cheese Wine Full Review
