Trapiche Fincas Las Palmas Malbec 2011, Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina: A lively Malbec with intriguing aromas of black raspberry, bacon and vanilla smoke. Concentrated and powerful with polished tannins. Ready to drink now, but will also do well with a few years in the cellar. Absolutely delicious especially at this price! This wine cries out to be on your table beside prime rib. Let your mouth have some fun tonight! Drink: 2013-2016. 186668 14% D 750 mL  $16.95 Score: 92/100. June 27, 2015 Best Value Red Wine. Agostino Inicio Malbec 2011, Mendoza, Argentina: Seductive nose of fleshy, come on in black fruit. Fresh and deep and inviting with juicy layers of come hither. The 2011 vintage was matured for 6 months in American and French oak. Crazy good price. Buy a case. Drink: 2014-2018. 330670 13.50% XD 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 91/100. June 21, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Mitolo Jester Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Mclaren Valle, South Australia, Australia: Here's your ultimate lamb with rosemary wine. This robust Cabernet over-delivers against its price point beautifully. I also love the Shiraz this winery makes. Full-bodied with smoky black fruit. Great concentration and depth with a good finish. Very satisfying. Crack open a bottle (or two) tonight. Wynns Coonawarra Estate Black Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Coonawarra, South Australia, Australia: Luscious and rich with cassis, fleshy blackberry and blackcurrant. Absolutely classic with a long finish. Tremendous quality for the price. There's some seductive anise and dark spice on the long finish. The bold wine has longevity, not only for this vintage in your cellar, but also this particular wine has been made now for 54 years. It's matured in French oak and the grapes are selected from Wynns' top vineyards. Liquid velvet. Drink: 2013-2017. 84996 14% XD 750 mL  $47.95 Score: 95/100. October 12, 2013 Top Rated Red Wine. Château La Garde 2010, Pessac-Léognan, Bordeaux A.C., France: A spectacular Bordeaux in every sense: top-drawer complexity, layering, balance, depth and length on the finish. This is the flagship wine of this house, and it declassifies 50% of production to maintain incredibly high standards vintage after vintage. The vines are planted in all the proto-typical Bordeaux soils: gravel, clay and limestone. The current owners purchased this chateau in 1990. On top of all this, the 2010 vintage was a terrific one so this is a great wine for your cellar still, and decant 1-2 hours when you open it. Dark fruit and smoke but not overwhelmed with oak -- no cover-ups here just pure mastery. Pair with a rare steak. Absolutely superb, especially for the price. Wow. Drink: 2016-2022. 682617 12.50% XD 750 mL  $51.95 Score: 97/100. November 11, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
Château de Gaudou Grand Lignée Malbec Merlot 2010, Cahors, Southwest A.C., France: Love the fresh dark cherry nose with some smoke. Lots of mocha and dark chocolate on the palate from very generous oak aging. Tastes almost sweet even though it's technically a dry wine. Lusciously rich and voluptuous. Drink: 2013-2017. 370239 14% XD 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 88/100. June 21, 2014 Best Value Red Wine. Magnificent Meat Pizza Wine Full Review
Andretta Brunello Di Montalcino 2007, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: From Tenuta Vitanza hails this blockbuster, full-bodied red wine offering up black fruit, tar, smoke, violets and exotic pleasures. Decant 1-2 hours, sit back and enjoy. Drink: 2015-2019. 367367 14.50% XD 750 mL  $53.95 Score: 93/100. March 29, 2014 Top Rated Red Wine. Gorgeous Gift Wine Full Review
Tedeschi Amarone della Valpolicella 2009, Veneto D.O.C., Italy: Black as night in hue with aromas and flavours to match. Layered, robust and complex. Great concentration that's undoing my own. Le Ragose Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore 2009, Veneto D.O.C., Italy: Rustic, dry and terrific with distinctive aromas of maturity: think tanned leather, violets, dried herbs and wild black cherry though not fruity. Nice mouth-watering acidity for a variety of dishes. Highly recommended. Drink: 2013-2018. 991984 13.50% D 750 mL  $19.95 Score: 91/100. June 21, 2014 Top Rated Red Wine. Capanna Brunello Di Montalcino 2008, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: Signature Brunello di Montalcino from both a great producer and a solid vintage. Classic aromas of violets, dark berries, smoke and some pencil led. Layered and nuanced; this wine will unfold in the glass (and on your senses) with time so decant 1-2 hours. Brunello is never inexpensive, but this lovely example is worth every penny. Try it with a rack of lamb tonight. Drink: 2015-2025. 378513 14% XD 750 mL  $67.00 Score: 94/100. Oyster Bay Pinot Grigio 2013, Hawkes Bay, New Zealand: The grapes are grown in New Zealand's North Island region for this zesty white wine. Zippy and refreshing with aromas of lime and grapefruit. Good mouth-watering acidity for seafood or an aperitif. Ends on an upnote of lime and lemon zest and springtime energy. Drink: 2013-2015. 326090 12.50% XD 750 mL  $18.95 Score: 89/100. Viña Herminia Excelsus 2009, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: Produced by Henri Gualco, Récolt., this is signature Rioja with dusty, dry nuances; not fruit-forward in the slightest. Full-bodied and smooth with terrific mouth-watering acidity for a wide range of dishes, from steak to grilled chicken or pork chops. Lovely smoky finish on this wine. Drink: 2013-2018. 50567 13.50% XD 750 mL  $21.95 Score: 91/100. June 21, 2014 Top Rated Red Wine. Plush Pork Wine Full Review
