Kilikanoon Wines The Lackey Shiraz 2010, South Australia, Australia: Rich and full-bodied with classic Aussie Shiraz character. Big black fruit, a hint of mint and a savoury depth. Incredibly great price. The Lackey represents terrific value in this producer's line-up. There's some lovely blackberry, cassis and spice on the finish. Highly recommended. Dandelion Vineyards Lionheart Of The Barossa Shiraz 2011, Barossa, South Australia, Australia: Classic Aussie Shiraz: big black fruit aromas up front, with some dark spices on the finish. Full-bodied and supple. The grapes for this wine come from vines that are almost 100 years old, and that concentration shows in the wine that was open-fermented with wild yeast and then matured 18 months in mostly second use French barrels. Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc 2008, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: A vibrant and terrific Sauvignon Blanc from a master of the genre! Lively aromas of lime and citrus and just the right amount of herbal refreshment. Mouth-watering and juicy. It's medium-bodied and packed with flavour. Robertson Winery Prospect Hill Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon 2008, W.O., Robertson, South Africa: Mocha-blackberry goodness on the nose with supple full-bodied layers of dark fruit on the palate. The vineyard is planted on Zandvliet Mountain at a height of 172 metres facing the southeast, which helps ripen the cabernet grapes yet maintain their balanced acidity as well.
