Alamos Seleccion Malbec 2012, Mendoza, Argentina: A robust red with great depth and complexity at an excellent price point. The grapes for this red are grown in the San Carlos region in the Uco Valley. Syrah add so much character to this blend with fleshy blackberries and cherries. It's full-bodied, balanced and smooth. Santa Rita Real Gran Reserva Carmenère 2009, Maipo Valley, Chile: A flagship carmenere for Chile with intense aromas and flavours of black plum, spice, blackberry and smoke.
