Creekside Red Tractor Cabernet Merlot 2020, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: Creekside Red Tractor Cabernet Merlot V.Q.A. from the Niagara Peninsula is a medium-to-full-bodied, bone-dry blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc sourced from family farms across Niagara. On the nose it's warm and inviting, with dark plum, dried blueberry, toasted cedar, and a whiff of bittersweet cocoa. On the palate it's ripe and rounded, with boysenberry, iron-tinged earth, a thread of tobacco leaf, and a long, savoury finish with structured tannins. Winemaker Yvonne Irvine crafts this wine to celebrate Creekside's family of growers, and the Red Tractor name pays tribute to the old Massey Harris tractor that still sits on the Creekside property as a symbol of the hard daily work of farming the Niagara Peninsula. Creekside was founded in 1998 by Peter Jensen and Laura McCain-Jensen, who built their reputation on making award-winning wines at accessible prices. Drink it now through 2027. Pull the cork alongside a grilled pepper steak, where the wine's dark fruit and firm tannins hold their own against the char, or try it with a classic cheeseburger for a weeknight pairing that punches well above its weight. Drink: 2025-2027. 11851 13% D 750 mL $19.95 Score: 90/100. August 15, 2026
