Heartland Shiraz 2009, Langhorne Creek, Limestone Coast, South Australia, Australia: Love the nose of black cherry liqueur and mysterious dark spices that draw you head first into the glass. The palate opens up with fleshy ripe black fruit and smoke. This is such a lively, full-bodied red that's smooth and ready to drink now. Pair with prime rib. Santa Alicia Gran Reserva De Los Andes Carmenère 2009, Maipo Valley, Chile: Minty black plums on the nose that opens to a fleshy seductive richness on the tongue. Full-bodied and supple. The Hogue Cellars Genesis Riesling 2010, Columbia Valley, Washington State, United States: Love it! White flowers, white peach, lime and petrol (this is good) on the nose. Vibrant and juicy on the palate. Packs a punch flavour-wise even though it's medium-bodied. Ultra food-friendly from seafood to roast chicken.
