Sticks Chardonnay 2010, Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia: Terrific balance and richness in this Chardonnay! Great buttery, hazelnut depth with a lovely counterpoint of green apple acidity and a great finish. This would be divine for a girls night in and/or movie night with buttered popcorn. Top me up! St. Hallett Gamekeeper's Shiraz Grenache 2010, Barossa Valley, Australia: Baked cherries and kirsch on the nose with a warm, peppery finish. Full-bodied and tasty. Great value. This winery has been making classic wine in the heart of the Barossa Valley since 1944. In Australia, this blend of Shiraz and Grenache grapes along with a dash of the flagship Portuguese grape Touriga Nacional is called the Gamekeeper’s Reserve. Sebastiani Cabernet Sauvignon 2010, Sonoma County, California, United States: Bold aromas of black fruit and tar on the nose, with full-bodied layers of blackberries and dark spices on the palate. Nicely crafted, but not for the timid. This Cabernet also has a dash of Malbec, Merlot, Petite Sirah and Petit Verdot in the blend for extra dimension and nuance. Juicy and mouthwatering.
