Cuddy By Tawse Cabernet Merlot 2013, Niagara Escarpment, Ontario VQA, Canada: A seductive mocha, espresso nose on this distinguished Niagara red wine blend of Cabernet France, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes. The Foreign Affair Winery The Conspiracy Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario VQA, Canada: Full-bodied and smooth with dark fruit and a meaty, savoury mid-palate note. Nicely balanced. The winery concentrates the flavour of the cabernet sauvignon grapes by using the ripasso method traditionally used in Veneto, Italy: dried grapes add richness and depth to the wine. Borsao Tres Picos Grenache 2015, Campo De Borja D.O., Spain: This winery is located south of Rioja and is comprised of 100% Garnacha grapes. The Garnacha grapes for this wine grow on old vines, which provides additional concentration and flavour. Great structure. Lots of mocha and dark chocolate aromas on the nose that are then flooded with lusciously ripe black fruit on the palate. Full-bodied and smooth. A rich darkly hued colour in the glass.
