Susana Balbo Críos Malbec 2017, Mendoza, Argentina: From the Mendoza wine region Dominio del Plata Susana Balbo Crios 2017 is a full-bodied 100% Malbec. The wine was fermented in stainless steel tank and a portion was also matured in neutral French oak barrels for nine months. "Crios" on the label means offspring. The label features a series of three connected and overlapping hands, an image inspired by a Mayan artifact. The three hands represent Susana and her two children. Enjoy now and for the next three years. Tasty and full-bodied Argentine red wine with black fruit and toasty smoke aromas. Supple and smooth. The winery concentrates the flavour of the cabernet sauvignon grapes by using the ripasso method traditionally used in Veneto, Italy: dried grapes add richness and depth to the wine. The Foreign Affair Winery Dream 2016, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: From the Niagara wine region, The Foreign Affair's Dream 2016 is a juicy, succulent, full-bodied red blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot grapes, 15% of which are dried for four months in appassimento style prior to fermentation. The final blend was aged in French, American and Hungarian oak barrels for one year. Ripe dark cherries, blackberry, fruit cake and sweet tobacco flavours fill the palate. Tannins are firm. Stave & Steel Bourbon Barrel Aged Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, California, United States: This Californian red wine is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown in the Livermore Valley, a cool climate district. The wine is aged in bourbon barrels for four months rather than the oak usually used to age wine from France, Hungary or the US (but not bourbon oak). The bourbon oak staves (panels or strips of wood) impart a maple spice flavour to the wine, much like bourbon itself, with a brown sugar, vanilla toast finish.
