Le Clos Jordanne Village Reserve Pinot Noir 2009, V.Q.A., Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Vintages Wine Panel: An intriguing nose offering masala spice, cherry, black raspberry, smoke, nutmeg and cloves. Dry and medium bodied, the palate is very fresh and seamlessly balanced and poised. Characterful and with great structure. The alcohol is 12.5% and beautifully integrated with the tannins, acidity and fruit. Wonderfully harmonious. Cellar for 2-4 years or enjoy tonight. My note: Lovely sweetly ripe cherries on the nose with soft rose petals. Medium-bodied and satin smooth. Surely, one of Canada’s best pinots at this price point (it’s a bargain). Château La Tour De L'évêque Rosé 2008, A.C., Côtes de Provence, France: Vintages Wine Panel: The redesigned bottle is the first thing you might notice about this perennial favorite. Next is the lovely orange-salmon color. Then comes the nose: it displays a subtle array of aromas, including red berry, cherry, smoke and garrigue. On the palate, this medium-bodied rosé makes a great first impression with pretty fruit, nice balance, very good weight and an elegant, medium-long finish. Graham's 10 Years Old Tawny Port 1998, Port, Portugal: Graham's wines come primarily from its own Quinta do Malvedos near Tua and Quita das Lages in Rio Torto. Graham's 10 Years Old is made from wines matured in seasoned oak casks of 534 litres until their peak of maturity is reached. Gorgeous notes of caramel, toffee, almonds and honey. Lovely tawny color.
