Henry of Pelham Winery CuvĂ©e Catharine Carte Blanche Blancs De Blanc 2011, Short Hills Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: A spectacular Niagara sparkling wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes, thus the moniker blanc des blanc (white wine from white grapes). This bubbly won gold at the 2016 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships. No wonder. It's crisp, toasty and refreshing with gloriously fresh notes of green apple and white peach wrapped in a warm blanket of freshly baked bread and melting butter. Henry of Pelham Speck Family Reserve Riesling 2013, Short Hills Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: A spectacular Niagara Riesling that almost jumps from the glass to wrap itself around your taste buds. Aromas of lime zest and lemongrass. The grape yield is kept to just 2 tons per acre to concentrate the flavour. It's also press fractioned to use the best juice and whole cluster pressed. Casas del Bosque Reserva Pinot Noir 2014, Casablanca Valley, Chile: Fleshy black plum on the nose with some rich mocha notes: fleshy-ripe-sweet though it's a dry wine. Full-bodied with great acidity for roast chicken. Bold and vibrant, yet still elegant. Made from young vines grown in the Casablanca Valley planted on hillside blocks in red clay and decomposed granite. Loaded with dark berry on the finish.
