Torres Altos Ibéricos Crianza Tempranillo 2013, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: This robust Spanish red wine is made from 100% Tempranillo grapes, the country's flagship red wine varietal. The wine was matured for 12 months in oak barrels followed by prolonged bottle aging before being released from the winery. A superb Spanish red wine, especially at this price point! Full-bodied, rich and layered with aromas of black fruit, dark spice, earth and toast. Pair with game meats. Serve at 17-18 degrees Celsius. Drink: 2016-2020. 18767 14% D 750 mL $14.95 Score: 91/100. Woodbridge Winery Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, California, United States: Terrific Californian Cabernet for the money! Wow. Cedar brush cassis and blackcurrant on the nose and palate. This would be a great party wine or wine for a wedding as it tastes a lot more expensive than it is and will please many palates as it's full-bodied and smooth but not heavy. Pair with hamburgers. Drink: 2013-2016. 48611 13% XD 750 mL $14.95 Score: 87/100. August 15, 2014
