99 Wild Witch Res Shiraz Barossa (T Jones)  914515 . January 1, 2011 Full Review
Sister's Run Gomersol Cabernet Sauvignon 2009, Barossa Valley, South Australia, Australia: Vintages Wine Panel: The playful label illustrates, with a work boot alongside a high-heeled shoe, the two sides of the woman winemaker’s world: the making and the marketing. A robust Barossa Valley Cabernet, sourced from 80+ year-old vines, that offers exceptional value. Starts with aromas of raspberry, cherry, black currant and blackberry. These notes echo on the palate, which is soft-textured and medium-full bodied. This crowd-pleasing wine will match with pizza. My note: Rich and inviting with savoury, juicy aromas and flavours of fleshy blackberry and plums. Some cassis and dark spices on the finish. Love the balance. Drink: 2011-2015. 478271 14.50% XD 750 mL  $18.95 Score: 90/100. September 17, 2011 Best Value Red Wine. Full Review

Ladies Who Shoot Their Lunch Plunkett Fowles Shiraz 2008, Strathbogie Ranges, Victoria, Australia: Rich, deep and dark. This is a don’t mess with me wine. Black fruit, mouth-watering and full, smooth layers. Pepper and dark spices. Drink: 2011-2015. 243592 14% XD 750 mL  $34.95 Score: 90/100. November 26, 2011 Full Review
Flat Rock Cellars Sweet Revenge Vidal Icewine 2007, V.Q.A., Short Hills Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario, Canada: Vintages Wine Panel: Winemaker Marlize Beyers hit a home run with the 2006 vintage of Sweet Revenge (her first Icewine) and now with a fabulous vintage on her side, she’s prepared to top herself with the 2007. Expect another complex, soft and lusciously sweet wine with layers of honey, apricot, pears and peaches all balanced by a trademark seam of refreshing acidity. Remember, revenge is a dish that is best served cold ... and so is the wine. My note: Lavish notes of orange marmalade, dried apricot and clementine. Viscous layers of flavor with an opulent finish. This wine will have its way with you. 47803 10% S 375 mL  $44.95 Score: 90/100. March 28, 2009 Favorite Dessert Wine. Full Review
Girl's Night Out Colio Estates Riesling 2008, V.Q.A., Lake Erie North Shore, Ontario, Canada: Floral and dare I say "pretty"? A lovely light white that works nicely as an aperitif or as a companion to many light dishes. Aromas of ripe each and white melon. 54101 12% D 750 mL  $14.95 Score: 87/100. June 12, 2009 Full Review
Queen Of Syrah Cool Climate, Cave De Tain L'hermitage Syrah 2007, Vin De Pays Des Collines Rhodaniennes, Rhône, France: Juicy with lots of black cherry and raspberry flavour but not heavy or jammy. Wonderfully supple and full-bodied and balanced. Spectacularly well-priced. Drink: 2010-2012. 155283 12% XD 750 mL  $11.95 Score: 87/100. August 21, 2010 Best Value Red Tied. Full Review
Veuve Clicquot Vintage Reserve Brut Champagne 2006, A.C., France: Vintages Wine Panel: Veuve Clicquot is an early example of women succeeding in business. In 1805, 27-year-old Barbe-Nicole Clicquot Ponsardin took over the operation of this famous house after the untimely death of her husband. This bubbly is a fine tribute to this brilliant woman with its rich aromas of white blossoms, lemon and apricot. The creamy mouth-feel, complex fruit, citrus and mineral flavours lead to a long, luxurious finish. A winner with shellfish, or cellar it 6-8 years. My note: A robust and muscular Champagne that leads with Pinot Noir in its blend of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. A consistently good producer with a brand that has come to symbolize celebration. This wine is part of the Vintages Essentials Collection. 508614 12% D 750 mL  $92.95 Score: 90/100. 7 Deadly Old Vine Michael & David Phillips Zinfandel 2004, Lodi, California, United States: Smoky black fruit goodness, like a campfire with your best friend under a crisp moonlit October night.
