Tommasi Graticcio Appassionato 2019, Italy: Tommasi's Graticcio Appassionato 2019 is excellent value under $17. Produced from Corvina, Rondinella and Merlot wine grapes made in a similar method as Amarone wines. "Graticcio" is the term for the traditional bamboo racks used for air-drying grapes after the harvest. Tommasi partially dries the grapes for this wine and partially ages the wine in oak casks. Look for rich and concentrated flavours of dark cherry, ripe plum, savoury herb, chocolate and toasted nut flavours with a silky finish. Sileni Estates Cellar Selection Sauvignon Blanc 2010, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: Vintages Wine Panel: Lovely aromas of tropical fruit, herbs and goose-berry on the nose. The palate is dry and medium-bodied with strong fruit replays built around a ray of bright citrus and a vibrant acidity. This is an impeccably balanced Sauvignon Blanc that delivers across the board. Bellingham Homestead Series The Old Orchards Chenin Blanc 2018, Paarl W.O., South Africa: Bellingham's Homestead Series The Old Orchards is a dry, full-bodied Chenin Blanc produced from 25-year-old Paarl bush vines. Vibrant and delicious with ripe red apple, Canary melon and citrus zest flavours on the palate. Delicious now, but can easily hold for another three years. Pair with crab cakes.
