Penfolds Bin 128 Shiraz 2012, Coonawarra, South Australia, Australia: This is what elegance and restraint tastes like from Australia: French grammar school, Australian graduate studies by the consummate gentleman winemaker Peter Gago. This wine was matured for a year in French oak, 26% of which was new. Lovely aromas of mint, cassis, blackcurrant and blackberry with just enough toasty warmth from the oak. Drink: 2013-2019. 509919 14% D 750 mL  $61.00 Score: 94/100. November 15, 2014 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
Domaine De Bila-Haut Occultum Lapidem 2013, CĂ´tes du Roussillon-Villages, Midi A.C., France: Produced by M. Chapoutier, this is benchmark Rhone Valley red wine from a spectacular vintage. Black fruit, smoke, tar and black pepper. Full-bodied, balanced, concentrated with great depth. An incredible wine for this price point. Pair with filet mignon. Modus Ruffino 2011, Tuscany I.G.T., Italy: A seductive nose of violets and wild blackberries gives way to a much more robust palate of fleshy black fruit, smoke, tar, graphite and oak. This truly is a Super Tuscan blend that delivers year after year. Layered, complex and offering a long, satisfying finish. Decant 1-2 hours. Pair with prime rib. Drink: 2015-2021. 912956 14% XD 750 mL  $32.95 Score: 93/100. October 31, 2015 Top Rated Red Wine. Plush Pork Wine Full Review
Poliziano Vino Nobile Di Montepulciano 2011, Tuscany D.O.C.G., Italy: Luxurious dark satin fruit with fleshy sinful goodness in this full-bodied red wine. Smoke and black plums roll off the long finish. Liquid gorgeous. Give this some cellar time before opening, then decant 2 hours when you do. Try it with rare filet mignon. Drink: 2013-2018. 988055 14.50% XD 750 mL  $29.95 Score: 93/100. April 18, 2015 Top Rated Red Wine. Voluptuous Veal Wine Full Review
Marchesi de Frescobaldi Tenuta Di Castiglioni 2012, Tuscany I.G.T., Italy: This robust Italian red wine blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sangiovese grapes is a towering blockbuster. It could use some more cellar time given its concentration and power. Layers of smoky black fruit and dark spice. Decant 2 hours and pair with a juicy rare steak. Drink: 2016-2021. 145920 14% XD 750 mL  $21.95 Score: 90/100. April 20, 2016 Top Rated Red Wine. Best Beef Wine Full Review
Francis Ford Coppola Diamond Collection Ivory Label Cabernet Sauvignon 2013, California, United States: The best Coppola wine I've tasted yet. Full-bodied, smoky with good acidity and a firm tannic grip. Decant 1-2 hours. Pair with a pepper steak. Drink: 2014-2018. 521021 14% D 750 mL  $24.95 Score: 90/100. La Crema Pinot Noir 2013, Sonoma Coast, California, United States: Fleshy cherry and dark spice with a long, naughty finish on this California Pinot Noir. Medium-bodied and satin smooth like lingerie. A supple red wine with cherry-berry mouth-filling wonder and flavours. Just enough oak for hedonists. Layered yet not heavy. This pinot has been one of my favourites for years. Satin seduction in a glass. Pair with roasted turkey or chicken. Drink: 2015-2018. 719435 13.90% D 750 mL  $39.95 Score: 93/100. Belle Glos Las Alturas Vineyard Pinot Noir 2014, Santa Lucia Highlands, Monterey County, California, United States: Sweet cherry-berry aromas and flavours on the palate. Vanilla oak spice, smoke and raspberry compote and preserves on the finish. Full-bodied Californian Pinot Noir. This is one of four single vineyard wines from this winery and considered the most robust of all four. Gotta love that red melted wax seal: makes a great gift package. Pair with grilled chicken. Lots of mocha and dark chocolate and caramel on the finish from oak aging. Drink: 2016-2019. 212076 14.50% D 750 mL  $59.95 Score: 92/100. November 25, 2017 Top Rated Red Wine.
