Toasted Head Merlot 2008, North Coast, California, United States: Vintages Wine Panel: Toasted Head takes its name from the practice of toasting the tops and bottoms of barrels as well as the staves. The extra toasting gives these wines extra vanilla and smoky character. This big, round, mouth-filling Merlot features black cherry and raspberry aromas with spice and licorice tones.
