Mulderbosch Chenin Blanc 2014, Western Cape W.O., South Africa: This is a great example South African Chenin Blanc with seductive aromas of Asian pear and something I can only describe as black apricot. Oak imparts baked bread and wraps this wine beautifully. Baking spices on the finish of this exotically wonderful wine. Pair with mild curries. Villa Wolf Gewürztraminer 2013, Qualitätswein, Pfalz, Germany: A lovely Gewurztraminer that's not over-the-top with the lychee and rosewater aromas, but has them in a subtle and pleasing way. Good spice and acidity for Asian dishes and curries. Amazingly great price, like many wines from this German winery. Drink: 2014-2018. 409706 11.50% M 750 mL $14.95 Score: 89/100.
