Mocha and dark chocolate aromas wrap themselves seductively around a core of fleshy blackberry fruit. Full-bodied and smooth. Dark cherry and black plum, almost prune on the nose of this D.O.C. wine. Good value. This is one of the best producers of ripasso. Featuring aromas of coffee and black cherry. Goats do Roam The Goatfather 2013, Coastal Region W.O., South Africa: Juicy purple and black plum aromas with dark spice. Happy, straight-up pleasure in a glass. Full-bodied, but not heavy. This wine is a non-traditional blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes. Some terrific notes of cherry and blackberry on the finish. Ménage à Trois Red 2012, California, United States: Fleshy black raspberry and cherry on the nose of this terrifically tasty Californian red wine blend of Zinfandel, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Rutherford Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Napa Valley, California, United States: A balanced wine and a great value. This is mostly Cabernet Sauvignon with some Merlot and Zinfandel grapes in the blend. Dark fruit aromas are wrapped in toasty oak. Nice symmetry and balance with full-bodied weight. Gets my vote!
