Carrick Pinot Noir 2011, Central Otago, South Island, New Zealand: Smooth and luscious with generous spicy cherry aromas and flavours. Vines grow on the north facing slopes of the Cairnmuir Terraces at Bannockburn and have low yields and are hand cropped. A luscious wine with fleshy black cherries and some baking spice. Medium- to full-bodied with velvet smooth. Great length and satisfaction. The proof is in the glass as to why New Zealand Pinot Noir is becoming a benchmark for the country.
