Yalumba Shiraz 2014, South Australia, Australia: This organic red wine is full-bodied, smooth and delicious with aromas of smoky black plums and blackberries. Deep and rich and satisfying. Great taste for the price. It opens beautifully on the palate with rich flavours of fleshy black fruit. Some pepper and spice and everything nice on the finish. Flat Rock Riesling 2013, Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The Vintages Catalogue says 2014 but we tasted the 2013 vintage. Green apple and white pear. Love it. Building an inukskuk is now a ritual at the end of harvest for this winery: lifting the heavy stones requires a team effort. Pair with roast turkey and fun.
