Belle Glos Dairyman Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015, Russian River Valley, Sonoma County, California, United States: A luscious and rich Californian Pinot Noir with sweet cherry and mocha aromas and flavours on the nose and palate. This is one of four single vineyard wines from this Californian winery. The vines for this Pinot Noir grow in alluvial soils of the Russian River Valley. Heavy fog rolls in over the coastal range and burns off when the sun reaches its highest point in the day. This cooling morning effect and the loamy soils allows the Dijon clone of Pinot Noir in this wine to ripen slowly but to full maturity. Rich and chocolaty: although this is a dry wine technically, it has a generously sweet nose due to the ripeness of the fruit and the toasty oak again.
