Dessert Wine

Puklus Pincészet Tokaji Yellow Muscat 2013, Tokaj-Hegyalja, Hungary: Beautiful concentration of lemon essence! Here's a dessert wine that's not cloying sweet, and will be perfect with lemon or poppy seed cake. Oh yum. Muscat grapes thrive in clay and volcanic, which brings out the floral essence in them and the finished wine, especially in dessert styles. The rolling hills of north-eastern Hungary provide excellent drainage for the vines planted on their slopes. Yellow Muscat food pairings: lemon cake, poppy seed cake, smoked paprika chicken. Riesling food pairings: spice cake, crème brûlée, fruit-based desserts, pastries, fresh field berries in cream.
