Montes Reserva Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Colchagua Valley, Chile: Supple, smooth, rich and full-bodied with generous aromas of dark chocolate and mocha on the nose and palate from oak aging. Great value Chilean red wine. This deeply ruby-coloured wine is aged in American oak barrels. Finishes with notes of caramel, cinnamon and red berries. Pair with roast beef. Torres Viña Esmeralda 2013, Catalunya, Spain: This wine takes its name from the emerald colour of the Mediterranean. There’s no oak on this aromatic blend of mostly muscat (Moscatel) grapes with some gewürztraminer grapes, that grow in the mountains of north-east Spain. A lovely honeysuckle finish. Simply divine even at triple the price it is. Stunningly lovely white floral notes along with some lychee and white melon. So, so pretty as an aperitif or with fresh seafood. Highly recommended. Try it with Asian dishes and mild to medium curries. Food pairings: seafood.
