Le Clos Jordanne Le Clos Jordanne Vineyard Pinot Noir 2011, Twenty Mile Bench, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: I'm reluctant to say that this is not my favourite pinot noir from Le Clos Jordanne, even though it is still attractive. The grapes for this wine grow in a warmer part of the vineyard, and so it has a richer, fleshier style as compared to other leaner, more acidic pinots. Nonetheless, lovely notes of ripe cherry and some judicious oak. Pinot Noir food pairings: coq au vin, beef bourguignon, grilled salmon, cassoulet, roasted and braised lamb. Kim Crawford Pansy! Rosé 2013, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: This Rosé has an almost neon pink hue, and is just as vibrant on the palate with strawberry jam notes, even though it is bone-dry. It is a blend of Merlot and Malbec grapes that won a gold medal in the New Zealand International Wine Show. Fun and delightful with a playful sense of style.
