Ascheri Barolo 2009, Piedimonte D.O.C.G., Italy: Classic Barolo! Expensive, but worth it. Distinctive aromas of tar, violets, wild tart black fruit and tanned leather. Yes, that's a mouthful, but try it. Ultra-dry and almost contemplative in that you don't want to mash it up with food. Decant 1-2 hours.
