Sparkling Wine

13th Street Blanc De Noir Sparkling 2023, Creek Shores, Niagara Peninsula, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: 13th Street uses Gamay instead of Pinot Noir for this Blanc de Noir, an unusual choice that pays off nicely. Crisp pear and a touch of brioche lead the aromas, with citrus peel and honey adding richness. Fine bubbles and bright acidity keep everything feeling fresh rather than heavy. It's a versatile style built for the table, not just for toasting. Charcuterie or baked ham would make an easy, satisfying match. Using the wrong grape on purpose has rarely worked out this well. Blanc De Noir Sparkling food pairings: charcuterie, baked ham, pork tenderloin. Drink: 2026 - 2028 39728 12.5% XD 750 mL $34.95 Score: 91/100. August 2026. Full Review Add to Shopping Cart

White Wine

Terre Dei Miti 2024, Etna, Sicily D.O.C., Italy: Etna's volcanic soils give this white real character, and Terre dei Miti's version shows some appealing rustic edges. Nectarine and honeysuckle lead, with a smoky, ash-like note reflecting the volcano beneath the vines. Chewy, textured richness carries through, more substantial than most whites from Sicily. It finishes with real bite, built for grilled or roasted fish. Swordfish with herbs or roasted fennel would make a natural match. Wine grown on an active volcano has no business tasting this composed. Food pairings: swordfish with herbs, ricotta ravioli, roasted fennel. Drink: 2026 - 2029 51692 13% XD 750 mL $26.95 Score: 90/100. August 2026. Full Review Add to Shopping Cart
