Rosés
Palooza Creation Rosé 2025, Pays D'oc, Languedoc I.G.P., France: Palooza blends Grenache with Cinsault and Vermentino for a rosé built for warm weather. Red fruit and stone fruit run bright through the glass, lifted by a citrus edge. There's nothing serious or brooding about this wine, and that's the point. It's made for casual, easy drinking. Burrata with pesto or sesame-crusted tuna would both be a treat with it. Rosé food pairings: burrata with pesto, sesame-crusted tuna. Drink: 2026 - 2027 48979 12.5% XD 750 mL $14.95 Score: 90/100. Red Wine
Château Nozières Cahors 2022, Southwest A.O.P., France: Cahors built its reputation on Malbec long before Argentina made the grape famous, and this bottling shows the grape's lighter, crunchier side. Cranberry and plum sit atop a base of licorice and mineral-edged tannin. The color runs light, but there's real richness packed into the frame. It drinks easily now without needing years to soften. Try it with duck confit, grilled sausages or a wedge of hard cheese. Cahors food pairings: duck confit, grilled sausages, hard cheese. Drink: 2026 - 2030 49877 13.5% XD 750 mL $18.95 Score: 91/100.
