White Wine

Atrevida Chardonnay 2023, Mendoza, Argentina: Atrevida Chardonnay from Mendoza is a crisp, medium-bodied white offering aromas of tart green apple, citrus zest, and hints of wet stone. It's bone dry with vibrant acidity and a clean finish. Serve it well chilled with grilled sea bass as the wine's bright minerality and refreshing character will enhance the fish's delicate sweetness beautifully, or pair it with roasted chicken and lemon where the wine's lively citrus notes will complement the savory herbs perfectly. New Zealand winemakers Duncan Killiner and Jason Mabbett, who met while working in Marlborough before relocating to Argentina, craft this wine alongside American sommelier Jeff Mausbach and renowned viticulturist Alejandro Sejanovich under the Manos Negras label, meaning "black hands" in Spanish—a reference to their hands-on philosophy from budbreak to bottling. This unoaked expression of Chardonnay showcases the purity of fruit from high-altitude vineyards in the Uco Valley where dramatic diurnal temperature swings preserve natural acidity and create precise, focused wines. Enjoy now. Chardonnay food pairings: grilled sea bass, roasted chicken with lemon, crab cakes. Red Wine

Leyda Coastal Vineyards Canelo Syrah 2022, Leyda Valley D.O., Chile: Leyda's Coastal Vineyards Canelo Syrah from Leyda Valley is a rich, medium to full-bodied red wine offering notes of black cherry, grilled herbs, rosemary and cooking spices. This dry wine displays firm, dusty tannins and impressive concentration that will continue to develop over the next six years and beyond. Serve it at room temperature with BBQ beef short ribs as the wine's meaty character complements the caramelized sauce, or pair it with meat-lover's pizza where the wine's succulent finish stands up to the hearty toppings. Winemaker Viviana Navarrete crafts this deeply layered Syrah using thirty-five percent whole bunches to add complexity and spice, sourcing fruit from coastal vineyards where Pacific Ocean breezes create wines of remarkable freshness and intensity. Leyda was one of Chile's pioneering cool-climate regions, first planted in the 1990s, and has since established a reputation for producing world-class Syrah that rivals French examples. This flavorful, tightly wound wine represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2032 and beyond. Syrah food pairings: BBQ ribs, beef short ribs, meat lovers pizza.
