White Wine

Closson Chase Unoaked Chardonnay 2024, Prince Edward County, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: Closson Chase's Unoaked Chardonnay from Prince Edward County is a vibrant, medium-bodied white wine showcasing notes of white flowers, citrus, anise and limestone. This dry wine displays bright acidity and impressive purity that showcase the grape's natural character. Serve it well chilled with pan-seared pickerel as the wine's mineral character complements the delicate freshwater fish, or pair it with baked brie with honey and almonds where the wine's crisp freshness cuts through the creamy cheese. Winemaker Deborah Paskus ferments this Chardonnay entirely in stainless steel to preserve its floral aromatics and zesty vibrancy, creating a wine that expresses the cool-climate terroir without oak influence. Closson Chase was one of the pioneering wineries in Prince Edward County, established in 1998 on the historic Closson Chase estate, and has been instrumental in establishing the region's reputation for producing elegant, Burgundian-style wines from limestone-rich soils. This ripe, round Chardonnay represents excellent quality and will drink beautifully through 2026. Unoaked Chardonnay food pairings: roast chicken, pan-seared trout or salmon, baked Brie. Sparkling Wine

The Grange Of Prince Edward County Lafontaine du Loup Brut Sparkling 2021, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada: The Grange of Prince Edward County's Lafontaine Du Loup is an elegant, medium-bodied sparkling wine offering notes of crisp pear, green apple, toasted hazelnut and pastry cream. This sparkling wine is made using Méthode Traditionnelle or the traditional method of the second fermentation in the bottle, just as they do in the Champagne region. This dry wine displays fine bubbles and refined complexity that showcase the potential of Prince Edward County's cool-climate viticulture. Serve it well chilled with smoked salmon blinis as the wine's creamy texture complements the rich fish, or pair it with tempura shrimp where the wine's bright acidity cuts through the crispy batter. Winemaker Normand Lalonde crafts this sophisticated sparkler as part of The Grange's Opinion Series, an ambitious collection dedicated to producing world-class wines that demonstrate Prince Edward County's ability to rival established regions. The Grange has been pioneering quality winemaking in this emerging Ontario appellation since 2001, helping establish the county as one of Canada's most exciting wine destinations. Enjoy this vibrant sparkler immediately while its freshness is at its peak. Sparkling food pairings: Seafood canapes, sushi, tempura vegetables.
