Rich on the nose with sun-kissed white florals, apricot, mandarin and flinty mineral notes delivered on the palate with a fresh and zesty mousse. Very crisp and refreshing to the very last sip. Vallée Loire Sauvignon Blanc 2023, Touraine, Loire A.P., France: From Touraine, Loire wine region, Vallée Loire 2023 Sauvignon Blanc is an excellent value Touraine at $18. The Touraine vineyards in the Cher River valley are located on hillsides with flinty clay soil and on slopes with siliceous soil and clay subsoil, giving this wine bright citrus, gooseberry, rock melon, tropical fruit notes and a flinty mineral finish. Chill and enjoy it with salad greens topped with fine herbed goat cheese or shrimp-scampi from the grill.
