KWV Cathedral Cellar Chardonnay 2022, Western Cape W.O., South Africa: Cathedral Cellar 2022 Chardonnay from KWV is a bold and expressive white, showcasing the richness of the Western Cape’s terroir. Crafted from grapes sourced across Stellenbosch, Swartland, and Wellington, this full-bodied Chardonnay delivers layers of ripe peach, vibrant tropical fruit, and bright citrus zest. Subtle vanilla and oak spice are seamlessly integrated, complementing its creamy, extended finish. A fantastic value and a great pairing alongside pork filet au gratin with green herbs or raspberry braised partridge, it’s equally rewarding now or for cellaring through 2028. Soho White Collection Harry Rosé 2024, Marlborough, South Island, New Zealand: Charming and instantly appealing, the elegantly expressed bouquet shows strawberry, creaming soda and crunchy apple characters with a hint of floral overtone. The palate is equally attractive with excellent focus and fruit purity, leading to a persistent refreshing finish. At its best: now to 2027. Score - 93 (Sam Kim, wineorbit.co.nz, Aug. 2024) MINE: Soho White Collection Harry 2023 rosé is vegan-friendly and produced from sustainably grown grapes by winemaker, Dave Clouston. Off-dry, medium-bodied and elegant with ripe apricot, watermelon, red apple, lemon zest flavours, it is juicy with bright acidity for food. Chill and enjoy it with creamy cheeses or cold roast turkey sandwiches. Rosé food pairings: creamy cheeses, salads topped with grilled chicken, cold turkey sandwiches.
