White Wine

Kourtaki Retsina Of Attiki, Central Greece P.G.I., Greece: Kourtaki Retsina Of Attiki is fragrant, dry and medium-bodied with lemon preserve, herbal, cedar and pine resin flavours on the palate. An acquired taste, one either loves Retsina or not. Chill and enjoy it with some traditional Greek fare like calamari, pan-fried saganaki cheese or taramosalata with black olives, fresh cut tomato and cucumber slices. Retsina is designated a traditional wine from Greece and has been made in Greece for at least the past 2000 years. Winemakers would often let wine stand in open or porous vessels and the wine would quickly spoil. However, they also discovered that sealing the vessels with pitch from Aleppo pine trees, prevented the wine for oxygenating and the wine would keep longer. This example was awarded Gold at the 2019 Sakura Japan Women's Wine Awards. Food pairings: grilled calamari, fried Saganaki cheese, chicken brochettes. Drink: 2026 - 2030 46888 11.5% XD 750 mL $12.95 Score: 86/100. March 2025. Best Value White Wine Full Review Add to Shopping Cart

Very nice now, enjoy it with a charcuterie board and Pecorino cheese. Cannonau food pairings: sausage cassoulet, charcuterie and Pecorino cheese, pork tenderloin from the grill.
