Argentina

Mosquita Muerta Pispi Red Blend 2018, Mendoza, Argentina: From the Mendoza wine region, Mosquita Muerta Pispi 2018 is a dry, full-bodied red wine blend of 40% Malbec, 20% Petit Verdot, 20% Bonarda, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Merlot. Grapes are hand-harvested from several sites in the Luján de Cuyo, Uco Valley and the Maipú. The Petit Verdot and Bonarda are co-fermented in concrete egg-shaped vats, while the other varietals are fermented separately in stainless steel tanks. A portion of the wine (about 40%) was matured in neutral French oak barrels for up to one year. Look for ripe blackberry, plum, chocolate, vanilla and pepper spice flavours juicy and smooth on the finish. Very elegant and very nicely done!
