Meerlust Rubicon 2018, Stellenbosch W.O., South Africa: Meerlust Rubicon 2018 is a full-bodied, smoky red blend of 67% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 4% Petit Verdot with grapes sourced from four different terroirs. Produced by winemaker, Chris Williams, the wine is dry and full-bodied, fresh and youthful with earthy violets, ripe plum, blackberry, cedar brush and anise spice flavours. Tannins are pleasantly grippy. Each varietal was aged in 300 litre barrels and large foudres for eight months, then blended and matured for another 10 months in barrel prior to bottling. Cune Reserva 2018, Rioja Alta, Rioja D.O.C.A., Spain: Cune Reserva 2018 is a dry, medium-bodied, vegan-friendly red wine blend of 85% Tempranillo, 5% Garnacha Tinta, 5% Graciano, 5% Mazuela grapes sourced from the Rioja Alta wine region. Burrowing Owl Cabernet Sauvignon 2019, Okanagan Valley, British Columbia V.Q.A., Canada: Burrowing Owl 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon is a youthful Cabernet Sauvignon built for aging. Grapes were sourced from Eva’s Vineyard in Osoyoos and the Burrowing Owl Vineyard in Oliver. Grapes were harvested and sorted by hand, destemmed and gently crushed prior to being gravity fed into stainless tanks for maceration and fermentation.
