Trapiche Gran Medalla Malbec 2014, Mendoza, Argentina, Argentina: This blockbuster Argentine Malbec at an amazingly great price for such quality! This robst red wine made from the country's signature grape, Malbec, comes from Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Aromas of fleshy ripe black cherries and plums. Terrific structure, depth and finish. Pair with grilled meats, hard cheeses and charcuterie. Malbec food pairings: roasted game meats, tourtière, boeuf bourguignon. Marchesi de Frescobaldi Tenuta Perano Chianti Classico 2015, Chianti Classico, Italy: A savoury, juicy, full-bodied Italian red wine made from the Sangiovese grape. Aromas of black plums, smoke, mocha and dark berries. Terrific balancing acidity for hearty meat dishes or a tangy tomato sauce. William Fevre Espino Gran Cuvée Cabernet Sauvignon 2014, Do Maipo Valley, Chile: A full-bodied, savoury Spanish red wine made from vines planted in 1997 at 720 metres above sea level in the Pirque region. This wine is a blend of 87% Cabernet Sauvignon and 13% Cabernet Franc grapes. Aromas of black fruit and toasty oak. Pair with grilled meats. Cloudline Pinot Noir 2017, Willamette Valley, Oregon, United States: Domaine Drouhin's Cloudline Pinot Noir 2017 is elegant, medium-bodied with ripe dark cherries, plum, raspberry, smoky herb flavours and mouth-watering on the palate. The Drouhin family of Burgundy fame know a thing or two about great Pinot Noir and were impressed with Willamette Valley's potential for Pinot Noir and started a winery there. Chateau Ste. Michelle Chardonnay 2017, Columbia Valley, Washington, United States: From the Columbia Valley, Washington, a full-bodied buttery Chardonnay with tropical fruit, apple dumpling, cinnamon and nutmeg spice flavours on the palate with a long lemon curd finish. Almost California in its makeup but that is because the Columbia Valley has two more hours of sunlight per day during July and August than California. palate.
