Henry of Pelham Winery Pinot Grigio 2017

Niagara Escarpment, Ontario V.Q.A., Canada
34 days ago

Sharon scored this wine: 89/100

Luscious apple notes with a hint of pear. Slight effervescence on the body that is medium-bodied with flavours of apple, peach and honeydew melon. Great value at $15. Pinot grigios are so versatile with food. This could be enjoyed on its own or with chicken, fish, or salads. Tasted July 17, 2018

Third Generation

Nugan Estate Third Generation Chardonnay 2016

South Eastern Australia, Australia

Sharon scored this wine: 90/100

Toasty aromas of oak and apple. Balanced acidity and not overly oaked on the palette with flavours of apple and pear. Great value at $13, especially for an Australian wine. Would pair well with turkey or really any fall day. If you're the 'grandchild' (third generation) at your next holiday gathering, this would be a fun wine to bring. Tasted July 17, 2018

Tasted side-by-side with Henry of Pelham 2016 Chardonnay Estate. Beautiful nose of golden delicious apple, peach and flowers. Medium-bodied, smooth with flavours of melon, apple and pear. If you've shied away from chardonnay because you're worried about them being too big or oaky, have no fear, this one is well balanced and a great value at $15! Great with roast chicken. Memorable Wine

Shiraz or CabSauv from Black Opal Winery. Can't get the wine in Ontario, but my aunt always set a bottle aside for me when I'd come visit her! Great memories!

First Wine

Probably a sip of my mom's sauvignon blanc when I was in my late teens.

Unusual Wine Experience

A wine tasting class that paired different wines with potato chips.

Current Fav Wine

I'm branching out from my usual CabSauv and Shiraz and exploring Zinfandel and CabMerlot wines.
