Pair this recipe with a wine that offers lots of ripe red fruit flavours and firm, but silky tannins. A great choice would be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/winepicks\/wine\/liberty-school-cabernet-sauvignon-2009\/105281\"><strong>Liberty School Cabernet Sauvignon 2009<\/strong><\/a> from the California\u2019s Paso Robles region.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>Serves 4 to 6<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/winepicks\/wine\/liberty-school-cabernet-sauvignon-2009\/105281\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-8493\" title=\"Liberty School Cab\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/Liberty-School-Cab.jpg\" width=\"68\" height=\"249\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n\u00bc cup balsamic vinegar<br \/>\n\u00bc cup soy sauce<br \/>\n1 tbsp brown sugar<br \/>\n1 tsp chopped fresh thyme<br \/>\n\u00bc tsp black pepper<br \/>\n1 clove garlic, minced<br \/>\n2 tbsp olive oil<br \/>\n1 \u00bd to 2 lb. flank steak<br \/>\n6 oz. Gorgonzola cheese, crumbled<br \/>\nSliced tomato<br \/>\nThinly sliced red onion<br \/>\nSliced roasted red pepper<br \/>\nArugula<br \/>\nMayonnaise mixed with purchased sundried tomato pesto<\/p>\n<p>In a re-sealable bag combine the balsamic vinegar, soy sauce, brown sugar, thyme, black pepper, garlic and olive oil. Seal and shake until well mixed. Add the flank steak, seal and shake to coat. Allow to marinate 2 hours.<\/p>\n<p>Preheat grill. When very hot, remove steak from marinade, season with salt and pepper and grill to desired doneness, about 5 minutes per side. Allow to rest 10 minutes before slicing steak into \u00bc inch thick slices.<\/p>\n<p>Spread sundried tomato mayonnaise on one slice of bread. Arrange red onion, tomato and roasted red pepper on the bread.
