The Weal spoke to the experts to find the best wines at an affordable price.<\/p>\n

Self-proclaimed \u201cwine cheapskate\u201d and author of Unquenchable<\/strong><\/a>: A Tipsy Quest for the World\u2019s Best Bargain Wines, Natalie MacLean has dedicated her life to finding the best wines on a budget. MacLean claims wine no longer needs to hold a hefty price tag to hold a luxurious flavour.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is no longer uncommon to find a great wine for a bargain,\u201d said MacLean. \u201cOver the past decade, wine makers know more, competition has increased, and technology has improved.\u201d<\/p>\n

MacLean said that when the recession hit many consumers traded down in wine price points and never went back.<\/p>\n

West Restaurant & Bar wine director Karen Beck believes not all wine is subjective.<\/p>\n

\u201cEach wine will taste different to each person\u2019s palate,\u201d said Beck. \u201cBut a good wine has to be made well.\u201d<\/p>\n

With the wine world at the forefront of its evolution,\u00a0 Beck believes it has become exposed enough that anyone can afford to try it.<\/p>\n

But buyer beware, a cheaply made bottle of wine won\u2019t fool even the most inexperienced palate.<\/p>\n
