To kick things off, sommelier Lesley Quinn has chosen the\u00a0 Loimer Erste Lage Z\u00f6bing Heiligenstein Riesling 2011<\/strong><\/a>, Kamptal DAC Reserve from Austria for Earth Day. Her tasting note:<\/p>\n

The satin smooth texture and fresh aromas of pears and apples give you a whole new respect for the earth’s bounty.\u00a0\"quotation-marks-right\"<\/p>\n

Bonus, drinking anything from biodynamic producer Loimer ensures that respect is extended to the vineyard and its ecosystems. A great Earth Day wine to enjoy with a spring salad.<\/p>\n

Lesley is a Certified Sommelier with the Court of Master Sommeliers. She first fell in love with wine while working in the vineyards of a winery in Hawk’s Bay New Zealand in 2007. In 2010, she became the Assistant Sommelier for the Ritz Carlton in the Grand Cayman.<\/p>\n

She was responsible for maintaining a wine list with 182 labels at the resort’s Italian Al Fresco restaurant, Periwinkle. While there, she was interviewed several times for the food magazine Flava<\/em>, offering different pairing ideas.<\/p>\n

In 2012, she moved on to become Food and Beverage Manager at the Marriott Hotel in Vancouver, where she overhauled the wine list and hosted wine tastings and dinners with industry luminaries for guests.<\/p>\n

In 2013, she returned to her home in Prince Edward Island as the Sommelier for the Murphy Group of Restaurants, a collection of six establishments, with her main focus on the flagship Sim’s Oyster Bar and Steakhouse.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
