Ferreira has secured two exceptional individuals to run the restaurant whose knowledge and experience will make Miradoro a destination restaurant for tourists and locals alike.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/People.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-1835\" title=\"People\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/People-350x525.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"350\" height=\"525\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Behind the menu is Executive Chef, Jeff Van Geest.\u00a0 His background includes some of Vancouver\u2019s finest restaurants (Bishops, Diva at the Met, Chef Bernard\u2019s Cafe) and his own restaurant, Aurora Bistro. Van Geest will be an excellent fit with Tinhorn Creek\u2019s focus on sustainability, winning Vancouver Magazine\u2019s Green Award for demonstrating leadership in sustainability.<\/p>\n<p>Justin McAuliffe, Miradoro\u2019s General Manager and Sommelier, has worked in the wine industry for 15 years at some of the top restaurants in Toronto (Centro, Canoe) and Vancouver (C Restaurant). McAuliffe is certified by the International Sommeliers Guild (ISG) and the Wine &amp; Spirit Education Trust (WSET). Another great fit with Tinhorn Creek\u2019s sustainability philosophy, Justin has endorsed the sustainable culinary philosophy at C Restaurant.<\/p>\n<p>Miradoro features panoramic views of the scenic South Okanagan Valley and overlooks many of the producers and farmers that supply ingredients used on the menu.\u00a0 The market cuisine menu has a Mediterranean influence, drawing inspiration from countries like Italy, Spain and Portugal \u2013 countries that know a thing or two about food and wine pairing. The food at Miradoro is rustic, simple, straightforward, and places emphasis on the seasons.
