Sure they can be tasty, but they\u2019re hardly anything to write home about. That is, until now. Try these following two recipes for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dairygoodness.ca\/cheese\/all-you-need-is-cheese\/recipes\/campfire-chili-with-monterey-jack\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Campfire Chili<\/strong><\/a> and Banana and Cream Cheese S\u2019mores; with Canadian Monterey Jack and Canadian Cream Cheese, they\u2019ll\u00a0 turn your carefree camping trip into a gourmet getaway.<\/p>\n<p>And, of course, the only other thing that a gourmand needs with good food is good wine. Here are a couple of my camping suggestions. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/winepicks\/\/wine\/cave-spring-cellars-indian-summer-select-late-harvest-riesling-2006\/11737\"><strong>Cave Spring Cellars Indian Summer Select Late Harvest Riesling<\/strong><\/a> is a medium dry wine that\u2019s not too sweet and packed with generous citrus fruit flavour. Another great choice is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/winepicks\/\/wine\/fielding-estate-winery-unoaked-chardonnay-2008\/91661\"><strong>Fielding Estate Winery Unoaked Chardonnay<\/strong><\/a>. A great value wine, it is flavourful with hints of melon and kiwi.<\/p>\n<p>With recipes and wine this good, you\u2019ll wonder why you don\u2019t \u201crough it out\u201d more often.<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/winepicks\/\/wine\/cave-spring-cellars-indian-summer-select-late-harvest-riesling-2006\/11737\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-15151\" alt=\"cave spring riesling\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/cave-spring-riesling.jpg\" width=\"64\" height=\"251\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.dairygoodness.ca\/cheese\/all-you-need-is-cheese\/recipes\/campfire-chili-with-monterey-jack\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Campfire Chili<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<p>1\u00bd\u00a0 lb (450 g) ground beef<br \/>\n\u00bd cup (125 ml) tomato paste, no salt added<br \/>\n1 cup (250 ml) salsa<br \/>\n1 can (540 ml) red kidney beans, rinsed<br \/>\n1\u00bd\u00a0 cups (375 ml) Canadian Monterey Jack, grated or diced<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Preheat grill to medium heat.<\/p>\n<p>Place two large squares of aluminum foil on work surface, one on top of the other to make a double layer. Add all<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/winepicks\/\/wine\/fielding-estate-winery-unoaked-chardonnay-2008\/91661\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-15152\" alt=\"Fielding Chardonnay\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nataliemaclean.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/06\/Fielding-Chardonnay.jpg\" width=\"70\" height=\"250\" \/><\/a> ingredients except the cheese, then mix together.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Cover with another square of aluminum foil and seal the sides tightly. Cook on grill for 10 minutes, then turn over and cook another 5\u201310 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>Garnish with Monterey Jack and serve immediately. Garnish with mini-marshmallows, chocolate and bananas, then place in centre of parchment paper.<\/p>\n<p>Fold sides of foil over food. Fold foil onto itself, pressing firmly. Tightly seal papillote at ends.<\/p>\n<p>Cook on grill for 5\u20137 minutes.
