Reviews and Ratings

Heather Wall - CS; WSET Advanced rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

This red wine is a blend of hand selected Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot. Tawse continues it's tradition of being an award winning winery year after year and their "little brother" lower end Sketches line gets more finessed each vintage. Black cherry, plum, raspberry, dried herbs, floral and leather on the nose. The palate is treated to some black earth, a litttle sour cherry, cranberry, pepper, sweet spices. Tannins are smooth and acidity is medium+. Medium+ body. This wine is drinking nicely now. Enjoy over the next 3 years. Pair with better cuts of red meat, BBQ burger, hearty beef stew.

Matt Steeves - Certified Sommelier rated this wine as 90/100 with the following review:

Medium ruby with a garnet hue, the nose shows plush dark berries, dried fig, plum, and prunes. A tasty wine to enjoy this fall and throughout the winter with rich dishes, steak frites, or roast beef. Tasted September 2015. 90 points. Matt Steeves - www.quercusvino.ca
Aromas of red and black currants, raspberry pie, cocoa powder and hickory smoke echo faithfully on the palate, which is bright, lithe and lively and woven together with fine-grained tannins. There’s a nice tangy mid-palate lift that leads to a bright, tasty, smoke-kissed finish. Source: Vintages Wine Panel, July 2013
