Black cherry and Band-Aid on the nose of this sexy Italian red wine. Hint of smoke. Full-bodied and supple and lip-smacking delicious Italian red wine. Try it with combination pizza or spicy sausages. Nice finish.

Ripasso Valpolicella Classico Superiore food pairings: meat lovers pizza , spicy sausage , prime rib roast, hearty winter stew.

Reviews and Ratings

The Speri Family has been making wine for more than 150 years with the fifth generation of the family now at the helm. Remarkably, they use only their own grapes. The 2012 vintage has a satisfying long finish. The term Ripasso in Italian is "ripassare" or "going over again" and references to the local tradition of re-fermenting Valpolicella grape free-run juice with the marc (grape skins) of Amarone. Pigaro referments for 15 days and then the wine is aged in oak barrels for 12 months. - Community Wine Reviews

There are very few people in the wine world who "get it" and Natalie is one of those who brings more fun to a buttoned-up and stodgy game.
