Earthy flavours of violets, rose petals, fresh mushroom and leathery notes on the palate. Great acidity for food. Decant for two hours and pair with firm cheeses or meaty game dishes. The 100% Nebbiolo Tradizione is sourced from select vineyards in Barolo, Monforte, Castiglione Falletto and La Morra.

Barolo food pairings: herbed roast beef, roast veal, hamburgers, aged meats and cheeses, venison.

Reviews and Ratings

Daniel O'Keefe rated this wine as 91/100 with the following review:

Tawny brick in colour, there is no mistaking this for a Nebbiolo-based wine, and the king of the variety no less. Vanilla, cocoa, and a sweet note that I can describe no other way than similar to an Irish cream liqueur. Tannins are massive, chewy, and structured so that this wine can age for the long term. The healthy acidity and body certainly won't hurt the aging or food pairing potential either. Palate shows sour cherry with touches of spice, floral, and balsamic. Enjoy with brasato al Barolo.
Carolyn Hetke rated this wine as 88/100 with the following review:

This Barolo has already mellowed out to a brick orange colour, with a raisiny nose and dried fruit on a smooth palate. A bit of heat on the finish. Barolo had excessive rain during the 2014 vintage and this may be the reason this example is not showing the depth and complexity you would expect from a Barolo. Drink now with steak tartar or wild boar. Tasted May 2019. www.thewineloverskitchen.com
Marchesi di Barolo La Tradizione is a 100% Nebbiolo dry and full-bodied red, with pink florals and rose petal aromas and mouth-watering acidity to match ripe red berry, rose petal and savoury spice flavours on the palate. Enjoy with Ciambotta -- an Italian vegetable stew. - Community Wine Reviews
